More Than a Long Weekend

This Memorial Day, we paused to honor and remember the courageous men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their bravery and selflessness will never be forgotten, and we are deeply grateful for the families who carry their legacy with strength and pride.

For many, Memorial Day marks the unofficial start of summer. But for those who have lost someone in uniform, it is something far more personal. It is a day of reflection, gratitude, and remembrance that deserves more than a passing moment.

What It Has to Do With Our Industry

There is a connection between those we honor and the work we do that is worth acknowledging. The infrastructure of this country, its highways, bridges, military installations, logistics corridors, and industrial facilities, exists in large part because of the men and women who defended it. The buildings we render, the developments we visualize, and the communities being built across Texas and beyond are possible because of the foundation of freedom and stability that generations of service members helped protect.

Veterans also represent one of the most entrepreneurial and driven segments of the workforce. Many of the developers, contractors, engineers, and business owners we work alongside have served or come from military families. That ethos of discipline, commitment, and mission-driven work is something the real estate and construction industries quietly benefit from every day.

A Moment Worth Carrying Forward

We are grateful for those who continue to serve today, and we remain humbled by the sacrifices of those who gave everything. As we move through the rest of this week, we carry that gratitude with us.
