The Docks downtown

Developer Williamsburg’s acquisition of The Docks in downtown Houston exemplifies the firm’s passion for giving old buildings new life. Originally built in 1929 as loading docks serving the nearby Buffalo Bayou, The Docks has been transformed into a creative hub. Tenants reflect the influence of the many artists from the surrounding recently revitalized area, known as The Warehouse District.

The Docks current tenants include a local record label, a music studio, a theatre, and several art gallery/exhibit spaces. Williamsburg hired PRISM to develop renderings illustrating the project vision - a vibrant, engaging atmosphere that will serve the community for years to come.

Located in the shadow of downtown, The Docks has unparalleled access and proximity to Houston’s urban core and the many major revitalization projects underway and recently opened. The 71,500 square foot building is adjacent to I-10 and within 0.5 miles of I-45 and I-69. Williamsburg’s team is repositioning the space into a first-class retail redevelopment that maintains the historical charm of the building. Currently leasing, The Docks is positioned for restaurants, coffee shops, breweries, art galleries, and other creative concepts to call it home. Williamsburg expects a Q4 2022 completion; the team is excited to start this new chapter for The Docks.
