In the Old Testament book of Jeremiah, we’re told, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”  Though Jeremiah wrote these words to the exiles in Babylon, their intent endures for the ages – God has bigger plans. First Baptist Church Tomball knew this to be true when they purchased 32 acres of farmland 20 years ago. With a campus master plan already complete, the congregation is now fundraising for the first project phase, a new Worship Center.

Merriman Holt Powell Architects is leading the design effort and Paradigm Construction is the general contractor. PRISM developed the rendering that will be used on a massive billboard on the project site. It’s truly a team effort to tell the visual story of the impact First Baptist Church Tomball intends to have on the community.

Phase 1 is slated to begin construction in spring 2024. The heart of the project is a flexible 400-seat Worship Center with a large lobby for fellowship before services. There are also several classrooms for Sunday School and adult/youth education, plus a secure hallway with kid’s classrooms. For future phases of construction of the master plan, the external entrance to the campus will be marked with a stunning monumental cross, larger Worship Center, offices, and additional classrooms for all age groups. Landscaping and nature-inspired amenities like walking trails, splash pads, and a fishing pond will make the campus an all-encompassing place for fellowship, fun, and connection to Christ.
