The Purse Building has worn many identities over the past century, and its next chapter may be its most exciting yet. Built around 1930 as a warehouse for the Purse Company, the building later became home to a printing and stationery firm, artist lofts, and eventually Lola Savannah’s coffee roasting facility. When Scarlet Capital acquired the property in 2021, the interiors still held signs of its past, including burlap sacks and coffee grounds left behind from its former life.

Located at 1701 Commerce Street in the heart of downtown Houston, across from Minute Maid Park and near the city’s courthouses, the 20,500 square foot building is now being thoughtfully reimagined. Night Moves Hospitality will introduce two new first-floor concepts: The Concrete Rose Bar, a world-class Mexican American cocktail destination still progressing through design refinements, and Uncle Charlie’s Athletic Club, a sports bar and clubhouse-style gathering space designed for the athlete in everyone. Both concepts are slated to open in 2026.

To help investors visualize the future of the project and share it within their networks, PRISM produced renderings that captured the project’s overall intent. These visuals were created to support communication and enthusiasm, not for fundraising purposes.

The redevelopment maintains the building’s character by preserving its exposed brick, steel-framed windows, and industrial architectural elements. Modern features, creative office space on the upper floors, and a hidden rooftop garden will add fresh layers to its evolving story.

The Purse Building is on track to become one of Houston’s most culturally meaningful destinations, offering renewed purpose while honoring its rich history.
