ACE-ing the industry

Mentorship isn’t just something we value—it’s one of our core commitments at PRISM. As part of our “learn and share” culture, our team was proud to take part in not one, not two, but three recent ACE Mentor Program Houston events supporting the next generation of AEC professionals.

First up, Jing had the pleasure of presenting alongside Mindy, one of our talented Project Managers, at the downtown location hosted in the beautiful W.P. Moore office. We shared insights on 3D Modeling and Visualization and were genuinely impressed by the students’ punctuality, focus, and thoughtful questions. Many have committed to weekly, after-school ACE sessions for up to three years—a true testament to their drive and passion. As a parent, Jing knows how packed high school life can be, which makes the students' ongoing commitment even more inspiring.

Next, Deborah joined a dynamic session at the Galleria location in JE Dunn’s office, where Ariana Flick and Rashard Harris of Kirksey Architecture gave an incredible presentation. The students, nearing their final presentations, wowed us with their creativity and focus. Special thanks to Rodolfo Martinez, Product Engineer at MGC, Inc., for the invitation to be part of this meaningful program.

We wrapped up this past weekend with the ACE Design Competition and Scholarship Award Ceremony, hosted by Kirksey Architecture. As a member of the Scholarship Committee, Jing enjoyed cheering on 34 student teams as they presented the projects they’ve worked so hard on all year. It was also a full-circle moment for Jing, returning to the Kirksey office where she spent five years of her architecture career two decades ago.

The event had it all: $85,000 in scholarships awarded, vibrant student showcases, and workshops covering everything from resume reviews to professional headshots. Deborah shared tips on building a standout LinkedIn profile—and absolutely crushed it!

Hats off to the ACE board members and volunteer mentors—architects, engineers, and contractors—who show up week after week to guide these future AEC leaders. Your dedication makes a lasting impact, and we’re proud to stand alongside you.
